31st Plenary Session of the FIC
The 31st Plenary Session of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held on June 7, 2018 in Astana.
The topic of the Plenary Session will be "Accelerated modernization".
30 Plenary Sessions chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held since the establishment of the FIC, where a wide range of issues were discussed, including: improving the legal environment for foreign investment in the country, improvement of judicial system of Kazakhstan, optimization of the tax system, foreign manpower attraction, improvement of the investment image of the Republic of Kazakhstan, new energy and other issues.
The Foreign Investors' Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a unique platform. The Council was established in 1998 to provide a direct dialogue between the government of the Republic Kazakhstan and foreign investors in order to effectively address the issues related to their investment activities in the country and improvement of the investment climate in Kazakhstan.
The FIC consists of the heads of 35 large multinational foreign companies and international organizations. During the Plenary Session the companies shared their recommendations.
The work of the Council has become even more urgent in light of the recent orders of the Head of the State. Since we are faced with quite an ambitious goal - to enter into the list of 30 developed countries, the Council, as an advisory body, plays an important role here.
As the President noted, the attraction of foreign investment should be fully used to transfer knowledge and new technologies to our country. It is the main force that can strengthen the economic development of Kazakhstan.
