The 32nd Plenary Session of the Foreign Investors' Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held on July 4, 2019, in Nur-Sultan.
Since the establishment of the FIC, 31 Plenary Sessions have been held under the chairmanship of the Head of State, which discussed a wide range of issues, including: improving the legal regime for foreign investment in the country, improving the judicial system of Kazakhstan, optimizing the taxation system and attracting foreign labor, improving the investment image of the Republic of Kazakhstan, energy of the future, as well as a number of other issues.
The Foreign Investors’ Council is a unique platform under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Council was established in 1998 to provide a direct dialogue between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign investors to effectively solve the problematic issues related to their investment activities in the country and improve the investment climate in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The FIC includes the heads of 35 large multinational foreign companies and international organizations. During the meetings, the companies give their recommendations.
The work of the Council acquires even greater urgency in the light of the recent instructions of the Head of State. Since we have a very ambitious task to enter the group of 30 most developed countries, the Council plays an important role as a consultative and advisory body.
As the Head of State noted, the attraction of foreign investments should be fully used to transfer knowledge and new technologies to our country. They are the main force that can strengthen the economic development of Kazakhstan.
