China national petroleum Corporation (hereinafter CNPC) is the largest public Corporation of China, one of the leading integrated oil and gas companies in the world and owns the assets of a number of companies engaged in the exploration, production, transportation, processing and other activities in the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
History of the China National petroleum Corporation in the Republic of Kazakhstan takes its beginning from June 4, 1997, when was the first Contract is signed between CNPC and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the acquisition of JSC "Aktobemunaigas". Since then, it's been 20 years. Over the past 20 years the Company has made an important contribution to the development and strengthening of political and economic relations between China and Kazakhstan. China national petroleum Corporation has invested in aggregate terms, 42.7 billion in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the amount paid in taxes and duties to budgets of all levels of the country reached 42.4 billion dollars. Since 1997 the expenditure of CNPC (Kazakhstan) for the implementation of social projects amounted to more than 350 million dollars, including the construction of the National ballet Academy in Astana, the cost of which amounted to 95 million dollars.
Currently, CNPC has become a key foreign investor and strategic partner in the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
