Deutsche Bank has been active in Kazakhstan for over 18 years, having established its Representative Office in Almaty in 1993. Deutsche Bank delivers solutions in all areas of Corporate and Investment Banking in Kazakhstan. This includes trade finance, access to the local and global capital markets, hedging products for commodities, interest rates and currencies, advisory for M&A transaction as well as initial public offerings. In addition Deutsche Bank actively supports foreign trade by providing letters of credit and guarantees, often with ECA cover. In 2003 Deutsche Bank was named “Kazakhstan Debt House” by Euromoney magazine.
Deutsche Bank is committed to Kazakhstan and its franchise in the country. The bank plans to actively participate in the development of the market and facilitate the attraction of new foreign direct investments into different sectors of the economy.
In total Deutsche Bank has arranged financing for projects and borrowers in the Republic of Kazakhstan in an amount exceeding 50 billion U.S. dollars.
Within the Foreign Investors’ Council, Deutsche Bank actively participated in the preparation and organization of the official visits of Kazakhstan’s President to Germany in 1997, 2001, 2009 and 2012. Since 2007, Deutsche Bank’s representative in the F.I.C. has been Chairman of the Kazakhstan Working Group of Germany’s Eastern European Business Association O-M-V and since 2010, Mr. Peter Tils has been Co-Chairman of the Kazak-German Business Council.
For more than 10 years, Deutsche Bank has been a key sponsor and co-arranger of the Eastern European Congress which is being held annually in November during the Euro Finance Week in Frankfurt and at which regularly presentations are being held by entities from Kazakhstan, including National Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna”.
Deutsche Bank has been hosting regularly meetings of issuers from Kazakhstan and their potential investors with a particular focus on corporates, banks, and sovereign institutions of the country.
