Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana

The Foreign Investors’ Council (FIC) chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established in 1998 to promote direct dialogue between the Government of Kazakhstan and foreign investors in order to efficiently address key issues related to their investment activities in the country and to improve the investment climate of the country.

This year the FIC celebrates its 20th Anniversary and two decades of fruitful cooperation and trust. To mark this important milestone, an evening reception was organized on November, 29 in The Ritz-Carlton Astana hotel, which was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Sagintayev, Minister for investment and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zh. Kassymbek, Minister of labor and social protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Abylkassymova, Minister of energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Bozumbayev, Minister of information and communication of the Republic of Kazakhstan D. Abayev, Minister of finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Smailov, Minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan T. Suleimenov and the Governor of the Astana international financial center K. Kelimbetov.

From foreign side, the event was attended by the KFICA Board Chairman Agris Preimanis, KFICA Director Zhanna Baidasheva, the Board members Erlan Dosymbekov, Andrey Kurilin, Curtis Masters, Satzhan Temirgaliyev, as well as by the largest investors into the country and KFICA members: Asian Development Bank, Anadolu Group, ArcelorMittal, Baker & McKenzie, Cameco, Chevron, Citi, CNPC, Deloitte, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EY, Eni, ERG, ExxonMobil, General Electric, Glencore, JPMorgan, Luikoil, Marubeni, Metro Cash&Carry, Mitsubishi, Polymetal, Polpharma, Philip Morris, PwC, Sembol, Shell, Telia Company, Total, TMK.

In the framework of this event an award ceremony took place to recognize contribution to the development of the FIC, where the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan has presented the award to the members of the KFICA Board and co-chairs of the working groups of the FIC, and the Minister of investment and development has presented letters of appreciation to all 35 member-companies of the KFICA.

In turn, the KFICA Board Chairman has thanked the key partners in Kazakhstan for fruitful cooperation and has presented them the Anniversary figurines.
