The Foreign Investors’ Council (FIC) is an advisory and consultative body chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 3985 on the establishment of the Foreign Investors' Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan of 30 June 1998 the Council was established to promote direct dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign investors in order to efficiently address key issues related to their investment activities in the country and improve the investment climate of the Republic.
The primary objectives of the Council are the development and submission of recommendations to the President and Government of Kazakhstan on core investment policy and economic development issues, including:
A constructive exchange of opinions and provision of recommendations by members of the Council are carrying out at the annual Plenary Sessions of the Council, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Preliminary results of the implementation of the protocol decisions of the previous Plenary Session, current issues of foreign investors and recommendations developed by the Working Groups of the Council are discussing at the Interim Sessions of the Council, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the working level, during the year the foreign side and kazakh side members of the Council share their opinions at the Council's Working Groups' meetings.
