Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council Association (KFICA)
Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council Association (KFICA) was established at the initiative of foreign members of the Foreign Investors’ Council chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (FIC) as the official Secretariat representing the FIC’s foreign members.
KFICA provides ongoing logistical, coordinating, informational and technical support to the foreign members of the FIC. KFICA plans and organizes in cooperation with the Committee on Investments and other government counterparts FIC Plenary and Interim Sessions with participation of the President of Kazakhstan. KFICA coordinates regular meetings and activities of four joint FIC Working Groups (foreign side and joint meetings, seminars, roundtables, conferences). On behalf of the FIC foreign members, KFICA also develops partner relations with government officials, state agencies, foreign business and diplomatic communities, media and business associations.
Thus, KFICA is called to assist foreign FIC members in their role of advising and consulting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of Kazakhstan on matters pertaining to foreign investment issues in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Members of the Association include only those companies, partnerships or other entities which have (or an affiliate of which has) an employee or representative who is a foreign member of the FIC. Current members of KFICA include 42 companies: Anadolu Group, ArcelorMittal, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Baker & McKenzie, Cameco Corporation, Chevron, Citibank Kazakhstan, CNPC, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank AG, EBRD, Eni, ERG, EY, EDB, ExxonMobil, General Electric, Glencore, JP Morgan Chase, KNAUF, LUKOIL, Marubeni Corporation, METRO Cash & Carry, Mitsubishi Corporation, Philip Morris Kazakhstan, Polymetal, Rusal, Polpharma, Sembol, Shell, Total Energies, Inpex, including 9 observers, KPMG, PwC, TMK, The World Bank, Veon, Air Liquid, Baker Hughes, Microsoft, Alstom.
During the Association’s annual general meetings, KFICA members elect KFICA Governing Board members, including the Chairman of the Board, the Secretary of the board and the Treasurer of the Board.
All important issues related to the FIC and KFICA activities are discussed jointly by the KFICA Executive Committee members (KFICA ExCom members), which includes the first leaders of all KFICA members. Each member of the Council from a foreign side appoints a permanent representative who interacts with KFICA, official representatives of the Kazakh side, and other foreign members of the Council and their representatives.
