Foreigners now do not need permission from the Interdepartmental Commission to enter / transit through the territory of Kazakhstan through international airports if they are citizens of countries with a visa-free regime. In addition, the exceptions are citizens of those countries with which Kazakhstan has resumed direct flights (regular, non-scheduled charter flights) in compliance with visa requirements.

From January 1, 2022, Kazakhstan resumed a visa-free regime with 54 countries.

The only requirement for all arrivals to Kazakhstan is to provide a certificate with a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 (valid for 72 hours), regardless of the presence of a vaccination passport.

Simplifications in the procedures for crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan by Kazakhstani and foreign citizens during the quarantine period were discussed at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission.
