On February 3, 2023 within the framework of the
V International Digital Forum Digital Almaty, a Panel Session was held on
digitalization and its impact on the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan.
The session was moderated by FIC Digitalization Working Group Co-Chair from
foreign side, Managing Partner and CEO, KPMG Caspian Saken Zhumashev.
The speakers of the session were also the Minister
of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, FIC Digitalization Working Group Co-Chair from Kazakh side Bagdat
Mussin, Director of the Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council Association
(KFICA) Zhanna Baidasheva, Chief Executive Officer of Beeline Kazakhstan Yevgenyi
Nastradin, Country Manager of Microsoft Kazakhstan Sergey Leschenko, Head of
Eastern Europe, Turkey, Caucasus, Central Asia at OneWeb Ivan Zaitsev, Head of
Treasury and Trade Decisions of Citi Kazakhstan David Lee.

Association Zhanna Baidasheva confirmed that investors, when deciding to invest
in any country, always look at several factors: the rule of law, tax
legislation, flexibility of the tax system, human potential and technological
factor.
Since 2021, within the framework of the Foreign
Investors’ Council, there has been and is actively functioning the Working
Group on Digitalization which includes representatives of the investor
community of Kazakhstan, business and interested government bodies.
It was also noted that digitalization will be a
key agenda for the 35th Plenary Session of the Foreign Investors’ Council with
the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan which will be
held on June 8 in Astana.
