At a meeting with the Managing Director of the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Central Asia and Mongolia,
Huseyin Ozhan, the prospects for strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and
the EBRD were discussed, including priority areas. It was noted that over the
entire period of the Bank’s operations in the country, a portfolio of 345
projects totaling more than USD 12 billion has been formed.
A new format of interaction with international
financial institutions was reviewed: going forward, cooperation will be
regulated by a Coordination Council chaired by the Prime Minister. The
readiness of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to provide support
for the uninterrupted implementation of joint initiatives was emphasized.
